County Reports 36 New COVID-19 Cases

Residents wishing to be tested for COVID-19 can call the county's dedicated hotline, 830-221-1120 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to schedule an appointment.

Comal County reported 36 new cases of COVID-19 cases Thursday, bringing the county’s total to 3,881.

Twenty-three of the cases are new, 12 are backlogged and one is a suspect case. The seven-day positivity rate for Thursday is 8.75%. The seven-day positivity rate for Texas is 10.75%.

Twenty-nine of the cases are probable. Six are confirmed.

There are now 162 active, confirmed-and-probable COVID-19 cases in the county. Of those, four are hospitalized.

In a statement, the county also reported seven additional recoveries, for a total of 3,598.

On Thursday, Comal County hospitals reported caring for eight COVID-19 patients. Of those, three are in intensive care and one is on a ventilator.
