Comal County Reports 50 New COVID-19 Cases, Death of New Braunfels Man in His 30s

Comal County reported 50 new COVID-19 cases today and two deaths.
A New Braunfels man in his 30s died at home of the virus on Nov. 22. A New Braunfels man in his 80s passed away at a New Braunfels hospital on Dec. 1.
The total number of deceased is now 470. The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since March 2020 is 20,345.
County hospitals are caring for seven COVID-19 patients. Two are in intensive care and two are on ventilators. Approximately 100% of these patients are unvaccinated.
Some 60.54% of county residents are fully vaccinated.
Comal County’s Public Health Department is administering Moderna COVID-19 vaccines for those 18 and older, and Pfizer vaccines for anyone five years and older.
Those who are high risk and qualify for a third dose or a booster can also call to schedule an appointment for a vaccine.
