Comal County Reports COVID-19 Deaths of Spring Branch Woman in Her 60s, New Braunfels Man in His 80s

Comal County’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 462 today.

A Spring Branch woman in her 60s died on Nov. 14 of the virus at a New Braunfels hospital, the county said in a statement. A New Braunfels man in his 80s passed away Nov. 11 at a Seguin hospital.

The county also confirmed 19 new COVID-19 cases, for a total of 19,953 since reporting began in March 2020.

On Wednesday, Comal County hospitals reported caring for nine COVID-19 patients. One is in intensive care and on a ventilator. Approximately 78% of these patients are unvaccinated. Not all COVID-positive patients in county hospitals are necessarily county residents.

Some 59.60% of Comal County residents are vaccinated.

The county’s Public Health Department is administering Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to those 18 years and older, and Pfizer vaccines for anyone five years and older.

Those who are high risk and qualify for a third dose or a booster also can call 830-221-1150 to schedule an appointment for a vaccine.
