Comal County Road Department crews are on standby in the event of icy weather, county spokesperson Cary Zayas said today.
Trucks are equipped with magnesium chloride and chat rock de-icing mixtures to keep roads safe and navigable.

The U.S. National Weather Service office in New Braunfels said confidence is increasing for winter precipitation late Monday afternoon into midday Tuesday.
A winter storm warning is in effect from 6 p.m. Monday to 6 p.m. Tuesday along the I-35 corridor and points east.
Roads and especially bridges and overpasses are likely to become slick and hazardous. Drivers should anticipate slippery road conditions that will impact Tuesday morning commutes.
Refreezing is expected Tuesday night.
A cold weather advisory has been extended through Wednesday morning and now includes all of South Central Texas.
