Comal ISD Approves 2019-20 Calendar

The Comal ISD Board of Trustees approved the 2019-2020 academic calendar during its Feb. 27 board meeting.

Spring Break was moved up one week from March 16-20 to March 9-13 to bring the district in line with other school districts’ schedules.

Oct. 30 is now an elementary early release day for parent teacher conferences, and Oct. 31 is an early release day for all students. Teachers will utilize this time for professional development.

The District’s Calendar Committee, comprised of parents, students, teachers, and administrators spent the last several months developing two calendar options for the 2019-20 school year, taking into consideration the needs of students, staff and families, as well as any changes made at the state level.

Comal ISD asked students, parents and staff to provide feedback regarding their preferred choice for the 2019-20 academic calendar. The majority of feedback received (70.93%) was in favor of Draft A.
