Enrollment begins Tuesday for all returning Comal ISD students. New student enrollment opens July 28.

The open-enrollment process is online only. The district is using a new parent portal called Skyward, which provides parents with access to their child’s school information including grades, class schedules, attendance and other features.

Parents of students enrolled in Comal ISD for the 2019-20 school will receive an email with a link to the Skyward Family Access portal. Proof-of-residency documents and updated immunization records are required to enroll students.

Parents who are new to the district must complete a new student pre-enrollment form in order to receive notifications about enrollment for the upcoming school year. They will receive an email before July 28 with directions about how to set up a Skyway Family Access account.

New students must have proof of residency, immunization records, unofficial transcripts or report cards from their previous school, and a birth certificate or social security number.

Parents should already have received a pre-commital survey asking them to choose which method of instruction they wish their child to receive — either on-campus instruction or remote learning.

Parents must submit a final decision on Aug. 11. The first day of school is Aug. 25.
