Comal ISD Weighs Options for 2018-19 Calendar

The Comal Independent School District (Comal ISD) wants to know what parents think about two options for the 2018-19 school year calendar:
Draft A ends school on May 28, with Draft B ending on June 3. Draft B also includes two additional non-traditional days off, and begins the Christmas break one day earlier.
Comal ISD’s Calendar Committee, comprised of parents, students, teachers and administrators, develops two calendar options every school year, taking into consideration the needs of students, staff and families. The district is now collecting public feedback.
After its survey closes on Jan. 28, revisions may be made to the favorable calendar to address feedback responses as well as requirements from the Texas Education Agency. The Board of Trustees will then ultimately have the final vote on the academic calendar.
