The 116-acre Comal Park, 1178 Comal Park Rd, Canyon Lake, officially reopened in March with an expanded swim beach and “redone” sand-beach section.

Water Oriented Recreation District of Comal County (WORDCC) also reduced the entrance fee for county residents from $10 per vehicle to $5.

New hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for March and October and from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. April through September.

The park is located on the south shore of Canyon Lake near Startzville. Reservations are not required but the day-use park is first-come, first-serve.

Amenities include picnic sites, two boat ramps, a pea-gravel and sand swim beach, playground and restrooms throughout the park. Recreational activities include a sand volleyball court, soccer goals and four washer pits.

Veterans were allowed in free under the old management. I go there 4-5 times a week to relax. That is going to be very expensive under the new rules. WHY don’t you have a YEARLY FEE ? Your first publication stated you DID make a PRODIT last year. Allowing veterans in free would not cost WORD anything.
