Comal River Closed Due to Heavy Rains

Last night's heavy rains forced officials with the City of New Braunfels to close the river to recreational activities.
City of New Braunfels officials began examining Comal River rates and conditons at the Tube Chute at 11 a.m. today to determine whether recreational activities can resume.
Heavy rains last night have caused an increased flow of water in the Comal River this morning, New Braunfels Police Department posted on its Facebook page this morning. The city closed the river to wait for waters to recede and debris to be removed.
Currently, the Comal River flow is at 870cfs, but that level is dropping quickly due to improved weather conditons.
