Comal County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) Lt. Danny Dufur graduated as a member of the 296th session of the prestigious FBI National Academy Dec. 11, Sheriff Mark Reynolds said on social media today.

He is the eighth CCSO staff member to complete the program.

Most graduates go on to serve in executive-level positions, Reynolds said.

The academy offers 11 weeks of training in advanced communication, leadership and fitness training.

Dufur, who has worked in law enforcement since 1997, currently oversees CCSO’s Criminal Investigations Division.

He’s served in a number of positions including patrol deputy, school resource officer, detective and detective sergeant.

“Personally, and on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office, we extend our congratulations to Lt. Dufur,” Reynolds said. “This has been a longtime dream to attend the FBI National Academy … Throughout his career, Lt Dufur has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to public safety and community service.”
