Comal County commissioners today approved an $80,000 line-item transfer to pay for a new, $287,000 two-story concession stand for Canyon Lake Little League.
The league’s four fields are located at Hidden Valley Sports Park, which is operated by the county.
The proposed concession stand will sit in the center of the four fields. Its second story will allow officials to track games.
Commissioners budgeted $200,000 for the facility and $21,000 for design services in May 2024, but this month, the lowest construction bid submitted to the county for the project was $287,000.
Canyon Lake Little League donated $ 5,000 toward the project and also presented a $1,500 check to the court today.
