Commissioners Court Meeting to Stream Online

Comal County's historic courthouse remains closed to the public during the COVID-19 pandemic, but Commissioners Court will be streamed online starting at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

Commisioners Court will hear a report on COVID-19 from Comal County Public Health Director Cheryl Fraser at their weekly meeting at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, March 26.

On the regular agenda is approval of an agreement for law-enforcement services between Water Oriented District of Comal County (WORD) and Comal County on behalf of Comal County Constable, Pct. 4; and between WORD and Comal County Sheriff’s Office.

Pct. 4 Constable’s Office Agreement

The primary area for patrol is the Upper Guadalupe river area above Canyon Lake, Comal Park and Comal County boat ramps around Canyon Lake. Secondary patrol areas could be added.

Patrols would enforce regulations relating to glass and foam/polystyrene and issue citations and arrests for violations of revenue permits.

Law enforcement responsibilities include patrol on weekends, as-needed, beginning on Memorial Day weekend (May 23-25) and ending on Labor Day weekend (Sept. 7).

Off-season patrols are as-needed, within the Canyon Lake and Guadalupe River area, for purposes including permit-holding business checks, fishing guide patrols and other lawful purposes.

Sheriff’s Office Agreement

The primary patrol area is River Road and the lower Guadalupe area, including campgrounds, the Guadalupe River below Canyon Lake, and boat patrols of marinas boat ramps and Canyon Dam.

Scheduled patrols would enforce state and local criminal-and-civil laws including WORD regulations relating to glass and foam/polystyrene and hte issuance of citations and arrests for volations of revenue permits.

Law enforcement would be provided for weekends as-needed beginning on Memorial Day weekend (May 23-25) and ending on Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 7). Off-season patrols may be added.

Watercraft patrols are included using boats and kayaks.
