Comal County Commissioners Court meets 8:30 a.m. Thursday at 100 Main Plaza, New Braunfels.
First items of business are proclaiming September as Hunger Action Month and approving donations for Comal County Sheriff’s Office Junior Deputy Academy Camps.
Donors to the program include Comal Cops for Kids, New Braunfels Wildlife Ranch, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Christus Santa Rosa Hospital, and M. Elder State Farm.
Donations for Comal County Sheriff’s Office Junior D.A.R.E. and Junior Crime Prevention programs also are scheduled for discussion, as is a $3,193.16 donation to Constable Pct. 4 from Shane, Huntor and Kristi Borland with Express Employment Professionals.
Other action items for Thursday’s meeting include:
- Discuss and consider approval of amendment to Plat of Rob’s at the Woodlands, combining Lots 3 and 4, establishing Lot 3R. (Pct. 1)
- Discuss and consider approval of amendment to Plat of Canyon Lake Forest, Unit No. 1, combining Lots 607, 608, and 609, establishing Lot 607R. (Pct. 1)
- Discuss and consider approval of amendment to Plat of Cypress Cove, Section One, combining Lots 173 and 174, establishing Lot 173R. (Pct. 4)
- Discuss and consider approval of the Water Availability Report submitted by Canyon Lake Water Service Company.
- Discuss and consider approval of Alamo Area Council of Governments Solid Waste Interlocal Agreement and authorize county judge to sign.
- Discuss and consider authorizing purchase of a 2,000 gallon oil distributor instead of two dump trucks and a water truck as detailed in the Road and Bridge 2016 capital equipment budget.
- Discuss and consider approval of Statewide Automated Victim Notification System (SAVNS) Maintenance Grant Contract between the Office of the Attorney General and Comal County and authorize county judge to sign.
- Discuss and consider approval of Appriss R-13 Service Agreement Renewal Notice for Automated Victim Notification Services and authorize county judge to sign.
- Discuss and consider acceptance of FY 2016 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Award and Special Conditions, and authorize county judge to sign.
- Discuss and consider approval of agreement by and between Hill Country MHDD Centers and Comal County, Texas, on behalf of the Comal County Sheriff’s Office for Telepsychiatry Services, and authorize county judge to sign.
- Discuss and consider approval of Texas 1033 Surplus Property Program Law Enforcement Agency Application for Participation and State Plan of Operation between the State of Texas and the Comal County Constable Precinct #3, and authorize county judge to sign.
- Discuss and consider approval of ad valorem tax over payments or erroneous payments (over $2,500.00) and authorize the Comal County Tax Assessor-Collector to remit refund payments.
- Discuss and consider approval of resolutions authorizing sale of certain properties for less than amount of delinquent taxes owed.
- Discuss and consider approval of resolution #2016-24 adopting fees to be charged by various Comal County Offices in 2017.
- Discuss and consider approval of line-item transfer in Road & Bridge, FROM: Herbicide Materials, TO: Computer Components and Software for new MDS software for chemical substances reports.
- Discuss and consider approval of a line-item transfer in auditor’s office, FROM: Recurring Contracts and Hospitalization, TO: Overtime to cover budget shortage.
- Discuss and consider approval of supplemental agreement to bid contract 2015-150 Food Service Management for Comal County Jail facility and authorize purchasing director to sign.
- Discuss and consider approval of fifth amendment to master services agreement to Bid 040-2011-370 with Securus Technologies and authorize purchasing director to sign.
- Discuss and consider approval of first amendment to bid contract 2015-155 with Austin Wood Recycling and authorize purchasing director to sign.
