Harvey’s Mulch Madness

Don’t call it mulch ado about nothing: All the mulch Comal County residents need is free for the taking as the county’s Recycling Center launches Mulch Madness in an effort to clear its inventory.
The center has received so much brush from Hurricane Harvey cleanup that it doesn’t have room to turn it into the quality mulch used in gardens and landscaping across the county.
The only way to make room, said Recycling Center Coordinator James Tart, is for residents to take the mulch off his hands.
“With the weather starting to cool a little, now’s a great time to bring your pickup or trailer and a tarp, and take care of all your mulching needs,” Tart said. “We’ll even load it for you.”
Mulch is available at the Recycling Center, 281 Resource Drive, New Braunfels, during its business hours: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays.
