The Comal County Auditor’s Office and its Treasurer’s Office will close from Thursday, May 7 through Tuesday, May 12 so staff can vacate their offices in preparation for renovation work on the Comal County Courthouse Annex.
The offices will reopen on Wednesday, May 13, at the former New Braunfels City Hall, 424 S. Castell Ave., where they will stay until the renovation’s scheduled completion in 2021, the county said in a press release it issued on Wednesday.
Renovation of the annex, 150 N. Seguin Ave., is the third and final phase of a project begun in 2019 to renovate the county’s downtown New Braunfels campus and expand its courtroom space.
The project comprises the recently completed renovation of the Landa Building, 199 Main Plaza, to house three county court-at-law courtrooms and expanded space for the County Court-at-Law Clerks Office and Criminal District Attorney’s Office; construction of a holding facility for inmates awaiting court appearances; and renovation of the annex to include four district courtrooms and expanded space for the District Clerk’s and County Clerk’s offices.
