Comal County closed its New Braunfels tax office this morning after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.
The tax office will remain closed for the remainder of the week. As a precaution, the county also closed its satellite tax offices in Sattler and Bulverde.
The New Braunfels office will be deep-cleaned and sanitized.
Exposure to the public is believed to be minimal because of social distancing and other protective measures the county put into place which reduced direct contact between employees and customers.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience as we continue to do everything we can to ensure the health and safety of our staff and customers,” Tax Assessor-Collector Cathy Talcott said in a statement.”
She said most transactions can be completed at comalcountytaxoffice.net.
