County Confirms 12 New COVID-19 Cases Friday

Comal County reported 12 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, two of them confirmed and 10 probable.

The seven-day positivity rate for Friday is 9.50 percent.

Five of the new cases are New Braunfels residents, three are from the Garden Ridge area, three are from Bulverde/Spring Branch and one lives in Fair Oaks.

Two of the residents who tested positive are under the age of 20, two are in their 20s, four are in their 30s/40s, three are in their 50s/60s and one is 70 or older.

There were no additional COVID-19 recoveries in Comal County, which now has 320 active, confirmed, and probable cases of the virus.

On Friday, Comal County hospitals reported caring for five COVID-19 patients; of those, two are in intensive care and one is on a ventilator.  Not all of these patients are necessarily county residents; likewise, not all county residents hospitalized with COVID-19 are in Comal County hospitals.

Friday’s Statistics

As of Friday morning, Public Health has received reports of the following test information:

  • 21,803 tests conducted
  • 2,495 confirmed cases
  • 645 probable cases
