County Confirms COVID-19 Death of Canyon Lake Man in His 40s, Reports 23 New Cases Friday

A Canyon Lake man in his 40s died of COVID-19 at a New Braunfels hospital on Nov. 7 Comal County confirmed today.

In a statement, the county also reported 23 new COVID-19 cases. The total number of deceased is now 457.

County hospitals report caring for seven COVID-19 patients. Of those, two are in intensive care. There are no patients on ventilators. Approximately 65% of these patients are unvaccinated. Not all COVID-positive patients are necessarily county residents.

Some 59.18% of county residents are fully vaccinated. This percentage now includes residents five years of age and older.

The county’s total number of COVID-19 cases is now 19,798.

Public Health is administering Moderna COVID-19 vaccines for those 18 and older, and Pfizer vaccines for anyone five years and older.

Those who are high risk and qualify for a third dose or a booster can call 830-221-1150 to schedule an appointment. Call volume is high and the department asks residents to please be patient when they call.
