County Confirms One Death, 23 New Cases of COVID-19

Comal County said today that a Spring Branch man in his 80s died of COVID-19 at a San Antonio hospital, bringing the total number of virus-related deaths to 115.

No date was provided in a statement issued by the county this morning.

The county also reported 23 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 3,226. The seven-day positivity rate for Tuesday is 5.6%, down from 6% on Monday.

The county now has 315 active, confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19. Of them, 39 are hospitalized. Comal County hospitals report caring for 10 COVID-19 patients. Two of them are in intensive care and one is on a ventilator. Not all of these patients are necessarily county residents; likewise, not all county residents hospitalized with COVID-19 are in Comal County hospitals.

Also on Monday the county reported another 39 COVID-19 recoveries, for a total of 2,796.
