Comal County added 28 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday and reported 55 on Tuesday.

County hospitals are caring for 10 COVID-19 patients. Of those, three are in intensive care and two are on ventilators. None of these patients are vaccinated.

Not all COVID-positive patients are necessarily county residents.

The total number of deceased remains 470.

Some 60.96% of county residents are fully vaccinated (have received two shots of the COVID-19 vaccine).

The Public Health Department is administering Moderna COVID-19 vaccines for those 18 and older, and Pfizer vaccines for anyone five years and older.

Those who are high risk and qualify for a third dose or a booster also can call to schedule an appointment for a vaccine.

The number is 830-221-1150.
