Comal County road crews are monitoring weather conditions as light, freezing rain and drizzle move into the area.

County spokesperson Cary Zayas said ice accumulation could make bridges, overpasses and untreated roads extremely slick.

“If you don’t have to drive, please stay off the roads,” she said.

As a precaution, road crews are applying chat/mag chloride to emergency services entrances.

Very light ice accumulation is expected on untreated bridges and overpasses, decks, signs and vehicles, the U.S. National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio said on social media.

Ice accumulations of a few hundredths of an inch with isolated amounts greater than 1/10 of an inch are expected starting at 6 p.m. today.

Temperatures are expected to climb above freezing around 9 a.m. Saturday.
