Although the 18 new cases reported so far this week marks a new high for Comal County, the positive case rate – the number of positive results as a percentage of tests performed – stands at 3.45%, up just slightly from last Friday’s 3.17% and essentially unchanged from two weeks ago.

Potters Creek Park in Canyon Lake
Potters Creek Park, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is open year-round and offers RV and tent sites as well as overnight screened shelters, and a group site, all with electric and water hookups. Every site has a picnic table, fire ring, and grill, water and electricity. Park Amenities include flush toilets, showers, drinking water, and two dump stations. The park also has two boat ramps with docks, a fishing pier and beach. Rangers patrol the park and hosts are on-site year-round.

An uptick in the number of COVID-19 cases in New Braunfels has county health officials worried.

Among those cases presenting symptoms, a majority included coughing and fever, with significant numbers also reporting muscle aches, headache, chills, shortness of breath or sore throat. Less commonly reported symptoms included loss of taste and smell, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, fatigue, abdominal pain, or weakness.

Comal ISD will launch a special website that helps students maintain routines that encourage a focus on academic enrichment. Today's announcement by Comal County's Office of Public Health brings to 90 the number of positive cases in the county, which now has seven deaths, 67 recoveries and 16 active cases of COVID-19, four of them hospitalized.
