CRRC of Canyon Lake is/has been active in monitoring and doing what we can to help encourage proper hygiene procedures within all of our facilities, especially in light of the news regarding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
We are monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization as well as our local Comal County Public Health Department news and recommendations in how we operate and in encouraging all people within our facilities to practice safe hygiene. This includes washing your hands, sanitizing, keeping coughs and sneezes to yourself, and encouraging people to stay home if they are not feeling well.
We have also stepped up our efforts to clean and sanitize all door handles, counters, restrooms, and other surfaces frequently handled by multiple people many times throughout the day.
Those that utilize our facilities, whether it be the Rec Center, Thrift Store, or Food pantry, may experience concerns about sharing our public spaces with others that might have traveled abroad and these concerns are not taken lightly and are why we have stepped up our efforts in doing what we can to keep people as safe as we can.
In reality, there is no public space that is 100-percent safe, but at least we are being as proactive as we can. We also will not participate in the practice of making people stay away just because they have traveled abroad somewhere. This would be discriminatory and CRRC does not condone any discrimination within our facilities.
