CRRC’s New Building Opens Next Week

CRRC Food Pantry clients should be aware that the pantry will close one day next week to make the move into its new home.
That’s right. The time has finally arrived. Yes, we’ve had a lot of delays but they didn’t dim the light at the end of the tunnel. We have had community support as well as community questions about when we’re moving. We aren’t sure how to make a lot of noise about this, but we’ll try.
We will need to close for a day to make the move. But we hope to open up and begin the new process of business as usual.
There will be some logistical challenges. Clients will have to access our offices through the back warehouse entry while we begin work on the parking lot. Our old building needs to be taken away before the contractor can begin dirt work in front of our new building and the CRRC Thrift Store.
Business hours for the main office/resource building will remain the same: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pantry clients will be able to select their own groceries in our new pantry. For that reason, no clients will be allowed to access the pantry after 3:30 p.m. I have to ask them to make arrangements in their schedule to make the visit enjoyable and comfortable for all.
By the way, if disabled clients are unable to access the stairs in the back of our new building, please call our office at 830-964-2324 and a Pantry Counselor will help you with your visit. When the parking lot is completed the building will be handicap accessible.
Thank you for the hard work. It is truly appreciated you’ve worked hard to make it easier for us.
