Dam Service Road Closes Aug. 11 for Embankment Vegetation Control

U.S, Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will temporarily close Overlook Park’s dam service road for embankment vegetation control on Aug. 11.
The road is expected to be closed for two days to allow a contractor to stage equipment and apply herbicide.
Herbicide application occurs twice a year.
“We understand a large number of people use the dam service road as a place to walk, including pets enjoying a walk with their owners, take pictures, and enjoy being outdoors but for the safety of all visitors, we will be restricting access until the work is completed,” said Canyon Lake Manager Javier Pérez Ortiz.
