Sign Up for County Weather Alerts

Comal County has a new web page that promises to keep tourists and residents high and dry in the event of weather-related emergencies.
It includes a link to sign up for the county’s Emergency Alert Notification System, which sends text alerts to the cell phones of those who register their phone numbers and addresses.
The webpage, www.comalcountyeoc.org, collects links from across the internet to help residents and visitors keep track of weather forecasts, rainfall, lake and river levels, and road closures as reported by the City of New Braunfels, the Texas Department of Transportation and Comal County.
“It’s become clear over the past several months that although there is a lot of information that can help keep our residents safe during a flood or other emergency, it’s either difficult to find or spread across multiple websites,” said Jeff Kelley, the county’s emergency management coordinator. “We’re encouraging county residents to bookmark comalcountyeoc.org and use it to help keep themselves and their families safe during severe weather.”
The page includes links to forecasts, current weather conditions and rainfall totals from the National Weather Service; lake and river measurements and predictions hosted by the Comal County Engineer’s Office; links to road closure pages hosted by the county, the City of New Braunfels and TxDOT; and drought information from the Texas A&M Forest Service.
