Envision New Braunfels
Weigh in on goals and strategies of Envision New Braunfels at a community open house scheduled from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23 at New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center ballroom, 375 South Castell Ave., New Braunfels.
Envision New Braunfels (“a special place by design”) is a city-wide effort to develop a vision and ‘roadmap’ for New Braunfels’ future through 2030.
The plan — which includes feedback and key findings from an Oct. 30, 2017 meeting — hopes to capture community-driven goals and objectives that could guide decision-makers on the city’s growth and development.
Christopher Looney, New Braunfels’ Planning & Community Development director, says area residents can interact with officials to discuss and provide input on growth scenarios and strategies and developed over the last several months.
Nine element areas included in the plan are:
Growth and Future Land Use
Urban Design and Cultural, Heritage and Historic Preservation
Parks and Recreation
Natural Resources and Infrastructure
Education and Youth
Facilities, Services and Capital Improvements
The city also has uploaded a poll to envisionnewbraunfels.org to provide group members and the general public an opportunity to weigh in on goals and strategies presented at its October workshop.
