Classes at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

New Braunfels Parks and Recreation teams up with New Braunfels Fly Fishers to offer an introduction to fly fishing and casting. Sign up for one or both classes. All instructors have years of experience — and might even share secret fishing holes.

9 a.m. – Introduction to Fly Fishing
This class is for beginners or those who wish to learn more about the many facets of fly fishing and casting. All materials furnished. Includes fundamentals of fly-fishing equipment to include rods, reels, lines and knots used in fly fishing.

1 p.m. –  Casting Class 
The casting class is geared towards fishers looking to improve their casts. Bring your own rods if you have them. If not, rods will be furnished. Class covers:
-Grips
-Stances
-Basics of the casting stroke
-Roll Cast
-Pick up and lay down cast
-False casting
-Shooting line
