WORD's 24th Annual Fun Fish

Free fishing event for children and teens ages three to 16. Hosted by the Water Oriented Recreation District of Comal County (WORD). No charge for food, drinks, bait, tackle or admission.

Families will learn about fishing, water safety and more.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) will stock 2,000 trout throughout the morning to make fishing easier for kids. Local organizations will provide fun, interactive education stations. Fishing experience is not required.

Schedule:

Registration – 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p..m.
Educational Programs – 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Fishing Tournament – Noon to 3 p.m.
Bingo Winners and Awards Ceremony – 3:10 p.m.

Things to Know:

• No pre-registration or waivers collected before this time.
• Loaner fishing poles are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Bring your own fishing pole if possible.
• Fishing licenses are not required for participants.
• Parents may assist child but cannot individually fish.
• No fishing before noon.
• Children must be present at the end of the tournament to win prizes and awards.
• No drop-offs allowed.
• No pets allowed.
