Expect Closures for Comal County Fair Parade, Holiday

The Comal County Fair Parade starts at 10 a.m. today and runs along S. Seguin Avenue in New Braunfels, through the Main Plaza then on to E. San Antonio St.

All county offices are closed, and Friday also is a holiday for Comal ISD staff and students.

Many City of New Braunfels facilities including City Hall, Municipal Court, Parks and Recreation administrative offices, Solid Waste and Recycling administrative offices, the recycling center and the Westside Community Center also are closed in observance of the Comal County Fair holiday.

Comal County Fair — the largest in Central Texas — runs through Sunday at the county fairgrounds, 701 E. Common St., New Braunfels.

Special features include the Antique Farm Show, Baby Barn Yard, Baby Chicks, H-E-Buddy Kid Zone, Antique Tractor Pull, Best Western Dressed, Kiddie Tractor Pull, Washer Pitchin’ Tournament, Mutton Bustin’ Blowout, Stick Horse Races, Rodeo and Corral Entertainment, a Carnival, PCRA Rodeo, Bull Riding and much more.

The rodeo begins at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Sunday’s Bull Bucket begins at 2 p.m. General admission seating is $15.

Admission to the fair is free for children five and under, $5 for children ages six to 11, and $10 for anyone 12 years and older.
