Federal, state and local “resources” are on their way to Comal County to support flood recovery efforts in the western part of the county and in neighboring Kerr and Kendall counties.
Comal County Sheriff Mark Reynolds made the announcement today.
He said no bodies of flood victims have been recovered in Comal County.
“The focus of the support is primarily on assisting with rescue, relief, and recovery operations in Kerr and Kendall counties, which have been significantly impacted by flooding,” Reynolds said.
Unconfirmed reports on social media say military personnel and aircraft arrived in San Antonio as early as Monday,
MyCanyonLake.com reached out to the Comal County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and Canyon Lake Fire/EMS about the extent of the county’s involvement in recovery efforts.
2 p.m. Update: CCSO says none of its employees are involved in recovery efforts but Comal County is expected to issue a statement later today.
2:53 p.m. Update: Comal County issued the following statement:
“Comal County is NOT currently involved in any active recovery operations.
There are, however, state and federal resources in our area, focused on supporting flood response along the Guadalupe River above Canyon Lake. We’ve highlighted the location for you.
🚧 These crews are coming through Comal County, but THEIR MISSION IS OUTSIDE OF OUR JURISDICTION.
