Final Deadline for Property Taxes Nears

Share
Comal County's Tax Office mailed statements on behalf of 19 taxing entities in October, with reminders in March and May. Penalties and interest began applying to unpaid balances after Jan. 31.

Monday, July 2 is the final day Comal County residents can pay their delinquent 2018 property taxes before they are transferred to a collections attorney, resulting in an additional 15-percent attorney’s fee.

Property owners with a homestead exemption who are delinquent on their taxes also can set up payment plans for the unpaid balance before the close of business Monday,  according to Comal County Tax Assessor-Collector Cathy Talcott.

“Even a partial payment will help reduce the bottom line,” she said.

Tax payments can be made online at www.comalcountytaxoffice.net, by mail if postmarked by June 30, or in person at any of the county’s Tax Office locations in New Braunfels, Bulverde and Sattler. The office accepts cash, check, cashier’s check, money order and credit cards.
