Firewise Training Offered

Comal County officials are working to teach homeowners how to stay, “firewise,” and protect their property from wildfires during the hot, dry months ahead.
Training is conducted in conjunction with Texas Forest Service experts, who will join Comal Fire Marshal Kory Klabunde and Comal Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Kelley.
“With more and more subdivisions pushing into the brushland of the Hill Country, it’s becoming more and more important for homeowners to know how to protect their property from wildfires,” says Connie Sheppard, county extension agent for family and consumer sciences. “Being prepared is the first and most-important step to staying safe in an emergency.”
Classes are free but registration is recommended.
