Fischer Christmas Market Set for Nov. 23-24

Leave leftovers behind and head to Fischer Christmas Market from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 23 and Nov. 24.
Georgeanne Groesbeck, daughter of Charlene Fischer and granddaughter of Eddie and Gertrude, said Fischer Store, 4040 FM 484 in Fischer, features only local vendors and locally made products.
“This is mostly our family and our friends,” she said. “We are not very big and we’re not a micro-managed market. All of our vendors become our friends.
“We like supporting local people and local products.”
Groesbeck’s expecting over 30 vendors for her second Christmas market at the store, which was built in 1902 (the third store on the site). Gift items will include straw brooms, baked goods, jewelry, homemade vanilla, baked goods and other items. A blacksmith and a woodworker from Canyon Lake also are scheduled to appear.
Sattler Farmers Market, sponsored by Canyon Lake baker Jessica Japhet, will be on site Sunday, Nov. 25.
Kerrville’s Buzzie’s BBQ Food Truck caters. Hot chocolate and coffee also will be available for purchase.
