FOCM Hosts Saturday Benefit for Family

Remember the family whose Canyon Lake Forest home burned to the ground on March 20?
Fraternal Order of Canyon Men (FOCM) sure does, and they’re hosting an all-day fundraiser for the parents and their three children at VFW Post 8573, 14625 River Rd., Sattler, from noon to midnight on Saturday (“runs still it’s done”).
The event is family friendly and includes a dunk tank, face painting, chicken s–t bingo, a 50/50 drawing, lotto hat, raffle items, a 4 p.m. live auction, barbecue and live music by Tommy Terry, Ray Reed and Jim Mooran.
Highlights include dunk-tank guests Shane Rapp, Comal County Constable, Precinct 4 (from 1 to 2 p.m.), and Debbie England, administrator of the popular Everything Canyon Lake, TX Facebook page.
Silent auction and raffle items include a four-pack of Schlitterbahn tickets, a stocked freezer and lawn mower with a trailer
FOCM President Tony Pena said his group, which was founded by “drinking buddies” in the 1983,” works closely with Sattler’s VFW to support the Canyon Lake community.
“We both help the community in anyway we can,” he said.
Pena owns the Midnight Express Bar & Grill on FM 306.
