She was 64-years-old.
Services are scheduled for 9 a.m. Sunday, June 3 at Mountain Valley Cemetery in Sattler (Canyon Lake). Pastor Don Somerville officiates.
Haden is survived by Gerald, her husband of 37 years, daughters Laura and Leah, and four grandchildren.
The local businesswoman gave generously to schools and the community.
In August 2017, Kathi’s Resale participated in “Purge for the PTA,” accepting items from the community, selling them, then donating 100-percent of the profits to Startzville PTA to pay for teacher grants, educational supplies, literary software and other items.
Business-wise, Kathi’s was so popular that in early 2017 it took over building space from Canyon Lake Event Center.
Haden opened Kathi’s Resale in 1989. It soon became a favorite for families on budgets, tourists picking up swimsuits and other items for lake vacations, and anyone else looking for a bargain or the fun of seeing what might turn up in the book or art section.
The store sells clothes, furniture, tools, household miscellaneous, linens, books, jewelry, small kitchen appliances and everything else “from big to the small.”
I am so sad for the loss of Kathryn Haden. My husband and I have loved visiting Kathi’s Resale at least 3 times a year for the last 3 years. We drive 3 hours to come shop and consign some of our things. This Resale shop is amazing and like no other we have visited !!
