Free Flu Shots for Comal ISD Students on Friday

Free flu shots will be available for all Comal ISD students on Friday, Oct. 23.

To register, visit comalisd.org/flu/. Sign up for a clinic is not required but will help the district plan to have enough vaccine and staff available for each location.

Oct. 23 is a student holiday, so shots are only at these times and locations:

  • 9 to 11 a.m. at Canyon Lake High School, 8555 FM 32, Fischer
  • 9 to 11 a.m. at Davenport High School, 23255 FM 3009, San Antonio
  • 12 to 2 p.m. at Canyon High School, 1510 I-35, New Braunfels
  • 12 to 2 p.m. at Smithson Valley High School, 14001 TX-46, Spring Branch

Students should download and complete the appropriate consent form on the site and bring it to their vaccination location on Friday.

Participants are asked to bring an insurance or Medicaid card if they have one. However, shots are free — there is no out-of-pocket charge for insured or uninsured students.

Who is funding this program? County, State, Feds, local medical professions??? Great program. Every school district should be doing this, especially this year. I received vaccines at grade school 65 years ago. Captive audience, highly contagious disease; it just seems like the best way to do it.
