Friday: 37 New Cases, One Death Reported by County

Residents wishing to be tested for COVID-19 can call the county's dedicated hotline, 830-221-1120, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to schedule an appointment. Testing is done on Tuesdays and Fridays and you must have an apointment.

A New Braunfels woman in her 90s has died of COVID-19, Comal County said in a statement today.

Hers is the 122nd death from the virus reported since March.

The county also reported 37 new COVID-19 cases, bringng the total to 3,918. Twenty-eight are new and nine are backlogged.

Of the new cases, 22 are probable and six are confirmed.

The county’s seven-day positivity rate now stands at 7.79%. The rate for the State of Texas is 10.75%.

There are now 173 active, confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases. Of those, four are hospitalized.

On Friday, Comal County hospitals reported caring for nine COVID-19 patients. Of those, three are in intensive care and one is on a ventilator.
