A fundraiser to help injured Comal County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Eddy Luna with medical expenses is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26 at The Branch Neighborhood Grill, 17130 TX-46, Spring Branch.
Ten percent of all sales will go to Luna, who faces multiple surgeries after the lower portion of his arm was almost completely severed during a shooting on Aug. 20. The Branch also said it will match total donations. Takeout is available.
Luna was attempting to serve a felony warrant on 59-year-old Brian Scott Sharp in the 1400 block of Springwood in Spring Branch.
“Deputy Luna is a proud U.S. Army veteran and has served his community with the CCSO for 29 years,” event organizers posted on Facebook. “He is a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. Please come show your support.”
A gofundme page also is set up. Click here to make a donation. As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, $31,375 had been raised.
