German Dinners-to-Go Fundraiser Supports Seniors, Meals on Wheels

Comal County Senior Citizens Foundations urgently needs funds since COVID-19 forced it to cancel three major fundraisers, The Great River Race (Frog Race), Wurstfest and Festival of Trees.

Wurstfest is canceled but thanks to Comal County Seniors Citizens Foundation (CCSCF) schnitzel, sauerkraut and streudel are still on the menu in New Braunfels this fall.

The non-profit is selling German food-to-go every Thursday to raise money for senior wellness programs and the multi-county Meals on Wheels program.

CCSCF urgently needs funds since COVID-19 forced it to cancel three major fundraisers, The Great River Race (Frog Race), Wurstfest and Festival of Trees.

Senior Haus dates are Sept. 24, Oct. 1, Oct. 8, Oct. 15, Oct. 22, Oct. 27 (Tuesday), Oct. 29, Nov. 5 and Nov. 12. Meals can be ordered and picked up between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.

The menu includes pork schnitzel with German potato salad, sausage on a bun with sauerkraut, beer-battered chicken wings and dipping sauce, apple strudel, and German chocolate cake. Prices range from $2 to $9.
