Guadalupe River Trout Unlimited (GRTU) today said it made a $5,000 donation to Canyon Lake Animal Shelter Society (CLASS) to help the rescue group continue its “incredible” work.

CLASS President Debbie England in turn presented Troutfest TX co-chairs Lise Lozelle and Bill Marshall with a custom trout trophy.

The donation was made possible by Troutfest TX 24.

“Your generosity doesn’t protect rivers, it helps uplift the creatures and communities that depend on them,” GRTU said in a statement. “Together, we’re making a difference.”

GRTU is a non-profit, conservation-focused organization focused on protecting, reconnecting, restoring and sustaining cold-water resources. It’s the largest local chapter of Trout Unlimited with over 5,500 members across Texas. The group’s “home water” is the Guadalupe River.
