Happy Halloween! There’s Lots to Trick or Treat About in Canyon Lake This Weekend

There’s no shortage of things to do and see this Halloween Weekend in Canyon Lake.

Peer’s Marionettes will rematerialize at the Startzville VFW. The world-famous Sattler Halloween Trick or Treating Event will once again shut down FM 2673 on Halloween night. Canyon Lake firefighters will throw open their station doors to ghosts and goblins.

Then there are the shot specials at the Dam Red Barn or the mummy march at Gypsy River Resort…

Happy Halloween in Canyon Lake also includes:

  • Mountain Valley Middle School PTA Costume Dance – 4:30 to 6 p.m. for sixth-graders and 6:30 to 8 p.m. for seventh- and eighth-graders on Friday, Oct. 29. School is located at 1165 Sattler Rd. in Canyon Lake. Tickets $10.
  • Halloween Weekend VI at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Hill Country – Friday, Oct. 29, Saturday, Oct. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 31. Park is located at 12915 FM 306, Canyon Lake.
  • Halloween Trunk-or-Treat – 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 at Mammen Family Public Library, 131 Bulverde Crossing, Bulverde.
  • Halloween Festival and Night Market – 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 at Gruene Outpost River Lodge/Bull Frog Tubing, 1273 River Terr, New Braunfels. Food trucks, trick-or-treating, live music, Halloween costume contest and more. Canned food donations accepted.
  • Haunted Clubhouse – 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, Saturday, Oct. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 31 at Canyons Springs Resort, 691 Canyon Springs Dr., Canyon Lake. Tickets $10.
  • Trunk or Treat – 3 to 6 p.m Saturday, Oct. 30 at Canyon Lake United Methodist Church, 206 Flintstone Dr., Canyon Lake — All ‘littles’ are welcome at event for preschool and elementary-school children. For more information or to make a donation email mommybug1976@gmail.com.
  • Trunk or Treat – 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 at Canyon Lake Smiles, 8565 FM 2673. Spooky afternoon of trick-or-treating includes face painting, photo booth, drinks and snacks and interactive activity.
  • Garden Ridge Elementary School Fall Festival – 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 at the school, 9401 Municipal Parkway, Garden Ridge. Bring new socks or underwear for Comal Clothes Closet and earn five kid raffle tickets.
  • 3rd Annual Halloween Costume Party – 7 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Oct. 30 at Dam Red Barn, 16520 S Access Rd, Canyon Lake. Free admission. Includes DJ Party, costume contest, shot specials and prizes.
  • Gypsy River Resort’s Foy Farm-Kin Festival & Pumpkin Patch – 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 31 at Gypsy River Resort, 8690 River Rd., New Braunfels . Live music from 3 to 6 p.m. Includes bouncy castle, mummy march, cotton candy, candy apple bar, face painting, food trailer, pumpkin bowling, petting zoo and man cave with live football games. $5 admission (kids 12 and under free) and $5 parking with free hay ride.
  • Peer’s Marionettes, a Live Halloween Show – 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31 at VFW Post 8800, 7755 FM 2673 in Startzville/Canyon Lake. Free.
  • Happy Halloween – 5 to  6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31 at Highway 46 Business district, 15000 State Highway 46, Spring Branch. Costume contest at 6:30 p.m. near Planet Fitness. Sponsored by Bulverde Police Department, HEB and Highway 46 Business District. A Fall Festival is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30. Includes pumpkin painting, hot wheels racing, price fishing, fall foliage pictures, monster bowling, a witch-hat ring toss, costume contest.
  • Trunk or Treat – 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31 at Hill Country Christian Church Parking Lot, 20845 Hwy 46 W (next to HEB) in Spring Branch.
  • Trick or Treat at Comal County Fire Stations – Firefighters will hand out candy to trick-or-treaters on Halloween Night, Sunday, Oct. 31. The crew from Station  51 will be at the Trunk or Treat in Sattler with Tiller  51, the giant fire engine, starting at 5 p.m. Or visit other Canyon Lake firefighters at Station 52, 160 Oblate Dr.; Station 53, 21750 FM 306 (north side of the lake); Station 54, 8685 FM 306 (near Purgatory Road); Station 55, 1223 Island View Dr.; and Station 56, 1150 S. Cranes Mill Rd. (State Highway 46/Vintage Oaks).
  • Sattler Halloween Trick or Treating Event – 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31 at businesses along FM 2673 in Sattler, including CRRC Resource Center and Thrift Store parking lots, 1917 FM 2673, Canyon Lake. Candy and other treats are provided by area businesses.
