Heritage Museum Hosts Its First Fossil Ridge Tours This Weekend

Check out real fossils and dinosaur tracks at the Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country's first fossil ridge tours this weekend.

Canyon Lake’s Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country hosts its first Fossil Ridge Tour at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23.

Two, one-hour tours begin at 1 and 2 p.m. Fossil Ridge Tours also are planned throughout the year on the third Saturday of each month. Tickets are $5 each.

The museum also reduced membership fees by 50 percent for the  month of January.

The museum is located at 4831 FM 2673 between Sattler and Startzville. Over the last 20 years, it has protected and preserved over 200 dinosaur footprints and 28 separate trackways laid down 110 million years ago during the early Cretaceous period in the upper Glen Rose Formation.
