Twenty-year-old Converse resident Brody Tyler Davis is in Comal County jail this afternoon, charged with first-degree felony murder in the death of 53-year-old Kyle Leonard Foster of Canyon Lake.

Foster was found dead around 10 a.m. Sunday in the 4000 block of South Cranes Mill Road in Canyon Lake with a fatal stab wound to the neck.

After identifying his body, Comal County Sheriff’s Office detectives identified Foster’s vehicle as a gold Toyota Camry. Deputies later located the vehicle at 8:04 p.m. Sunday, traveling along FM 2673 in Startzville. They pursued Davis through Sattler, onto FM 306 and into New Braunfels at speeds exceeding 100 miles-per-hour.

New Braunfels Police Department successfully deployed spikes in the area of FM 306 and Hunter Road, which ended the police pursuit around FM 306 and IH-35 in New Braunfels at 8:19 p.m, according to CCSO Public Information Officer Jennifer Smith.

Brody also has been charged with third-degree felony for evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, CCSO said. He is being held on a $50,000 bond.

An investigation is now underway by CCSO detectives and the Texas Rangers. Foster was pronounced dead yesterday by Comal County Justice of the Peace Pct. 3 Mike Rust, who ordered an autopsy.
