Hope for the Hill Country, a candlelight vigil of hope honoring victims of the July 4-5 floods along the Guadalupe River, is planned for 6 p.m. Thursday, July 10 at New Braunfels Main Plaza, 110 N. Seguin Ave., across from the Comal County Courthouse.

All ages are welcome.

Hand-held candles will be provided. No stationary candles are allowed by the city.

“Along with our fellow Texans, our hearts are broken, following this weekend’s tragedy in the Texas Hill Country,” Hope Hospice said in a statement. “For those grieving, as always, we are here to help when it matters most.

“For those who have lost someone in the floods, please reach out for free grief support from licensed professional counselors at the Hampel-Wuest Grief & Hope Center at 830-358-5300 or email grief@hopehospice.net.”

The hospice offers a no-appointment-necessary, come-and-go day of support and hope from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 9.

Thursday’s vigil is sponsored by River City Advocacy & Counseling Center, Light Work 316 Inc., and Hope Hospice.
