Investigation Underway Into Death of New Braunfels Man Found Near Guadalupe River

An investigation is underway into the death of 18-year-old Jesus Miguel Romero of New Braunfels, whose body was discovered Friday morning near the Guadalupe River in the 1200 block of Gruene Rd. in New Braunfels.
New Braunfels police said the body was found by tourists staying at a nearby hotel. Romero had been dead for over 24 hours.
An autopsy was ordered by Comal County Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace Rick Walker.
City of New Braunfels Media and Communications Coordinator David Ferguson today said the cause and manner of death remain undetermined.
The police department’s Criminal Investigation Division is investigating.
