June 4: Two New Braunfels Residents in Their 20s and 30s Test Positive for COVID-19

With seven deaths, the county now has 20 active COVID-19 cases, five of them hospitalized.

Comal County on Wednesday confirmed two new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 113.

The cases are New Braunfels residents in their 20s and 30s who are home-isolating.

The county also confirmed four recoveries from COVID-19, for a total of 86. With seven deaths, the county now has 20 active COVID-19 cases, five of them hospitalized.

Thursday’s Statistics

3,321 tests conducted
113 positive tests
3,140 negative tests
68 results still pending

These numbers reflect all 1,435 nursing home tests conducted by members of the New Braunfels and Bulverde Spring Branch fire departments in May. One test was positive, and the rest were negative. The number of nursing home tests is 11 fewer than was initially reported.

In addition, 1,083 antibody tests have been performed at the Office of Public Health, with 12 positive results, indicating those people had contracted COVID-19 at some point in the past. Those numbers do not reflect the totality of antibody testing in the county, nor are all tests necessarily of Comal County residents.
