Water Oriented Recreation District of Comal County
WORD is a park-and-recreation district created by the Texas Legislature in 1987 and approved by Comal County voters in 1988. The district encompasses Canyon Lake and over 30 miles of floatable water on the Guadalupe River above and below Canyon Lake. 
Comal Park
Comal Park is located on the south shore of Canyon Lake near Startzville. Comal Park has two boat ramps, 65 picnic sites, a large swim beach, children's playground, a restroom at the beach and two boatramps.
Guadalupe River Trout Fishing
This map shows the trout fishing area of the Guadalupe River between the Canyon Lake dam and the City of New Braunfels. Trout will be stocked at Guadalupe Park, Whitewater Camp, 4th Crossing, 3rd Crossing, and Camp Huaco Springs.
