Let Comal’s Recycling Center Turn Christmas Trees, Garlands, into Mulch after Holidays

Share
Recycle Christmas trees and garlands by turning them into mulch at the Moe Schwab Recycling Center beginning Dec. 29.

Comal County residents can drop off used, natural Christmas trees and holiday garlands free of charge at the Moe Schwab Recycling Center, 281 Resource Dr., New Braunfels, beginning Dec. 29.

All other brush is subject to the center’s usual recycling fees.

“We only ask that residents only bring live — not artificial — trees and garland and that they remove tree stands, tinsel, ornaments and other decorations before bringing them for recycling,” said Recycling Director James Tart. “We’re happy to accept your greenery and mulch it rather than see it go to a landfill.”

The center is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. It will be closed on New Year’s Day.
