Join Crisis Center of Comal County for its Annual Domestic Violence Vigil, a night to empower citizens in Comal County. The event is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 at Main Plaza Downtown New Braunfels, 111 W. San Antonio St.
“In acknowledging that domestic violence is a reality in our community and by generating publicity, support and awareness we aim to assure survivors of domestic violence that these are not dirty secrets that need to be hidden away, but rather circumstances that deserve support and resources generated by the community. We want all survivors to know that the community of New Braunfels and all of Comal County is here, aware, and invested in seeing the end of violence.
“We believe that it is critically important for the community to come together and acknowledge the work, services, and supports that are available for the prevention and intervention on behalf of survivors of domestic violence – services provided by the Crisis Center of Comal County.
“In 2017 The Crisis Center of Comal County served 1,100 victims of domestic violence and provided 22,622 nights of shelter.”
